Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus Make Chart History
Miley Cyrus debuts with "The Climb" (Walt Disney/Hollywood/Lyric Street) at No. 48 and dad Billy Ray bows with "Back to Tennessee" (Walt Disney/Lyric Street) at No. 59. Both songs will appear in "Hannah Montana: The Movie," which opens in theaters April 10. This marks the first time in almost two decades that a father and daughter have appeared on the chart with separate solo singles. That hasn't happened since Johnny and Rosanne Cash appeared with separate entries on the Nielsen BDS-driven chart dated October 5, 1990. The younger Cash was at No. 53 with "What We Really Want," while the elder Cash was enjoying a chart run with "Goin' By the Book" (No. 69), a song that became a patriotic anthem during the Gulf War.
